Animations

For 3D class we had to make 6 animations, but my machinama contains more then 6.
The animations done so far include:
- jumping to get over a wall
- Dodging a projectile
- Using the Relics power
- Idle
- Running
- Confused Shrug
- Wiping Brow
- Victory Pose

There's still quite a few more to do, but the ones completed are harder to animate. so doing the rest shouldn't take too long.

GUARD 3d models

To make the guard 3d models in time ill need to use the base 3d model i have that i used to make semaj. By doing so ill save lots of time and the scaling will be accurate. I will use the same method for modeling Lord Vesu Vius. with little time left the end result of the textures may not be as good as Semaj's but that is to be expected at this point in time

Audio

As for the Sounds that will be heard through out the Machinima, There will be the voices of the characters, some sound effects will be used also, example is sound of footsteps running, and gun fire. There will be a background track that will be playing to help set the mood. Due to the use of the background track i wont be using any ambient sounds. But i believe the track will be enough for the audiences entertainment.

Some Background Story

Here's some background story concerning the evil lord vesu vius.
He serves under a good king that has control over 5 small villages aswell as his kingdom.
Vesu is one of 4 lordships that advises the king to take certain actions when needed.
Vesu Vius is a very power hungry man, and controls the kings army, an army which will do anything that Vesu commands. With this loyalty Lord Vius begins attacking the small villages surrounding the kingdom so that they will serve under him instead of the King. Once he has control over all the small villages Vesu would have enough power to overthrow the king.
So he begins his attack and takes control over the first two villages without any trouble.
But a person from the 2nd village managed to escape and warn near by villages of what is happening. So when Vesu's guards surrounded Semaj's village he knew what was going to happen and knew he had to stop it from happening.
Lord Vius also likes to research documents about the villages he is about to attack. One piece of information that caught his interest was that there was a myth that a relic containing great power was hidden in a near by tomb. So While his guards begin surrounding the village he decide to try and find the relic to increase his chances of over throwing the king.

Project name

The name i have chosen for my Machinima will be
"Semaj's Adventure"
Semaj is the name of the main character in the story. In the story he sets out to save his village from destruction from a evil lord that is very power hungry. So the machinima name is very basic and tells the viewer that this Semaj character is the one that sets out on the adventure.

Cave Level

Ive begun making the cave level for my machinima. So far i have imported all my objects and now just have to add the right textures to the walls, what you see in this picture is just a temporary texture. however the textures on the pillars are there to stay.

MAP AREAS

The Locations needed to be made for the machinima include The Castle Library, Semaj's Hometown, Forrest and the Dungeon/Tomb. the houses for the Town will be made in 3ds max aswell as the trees for the forrest. the terrain side of those areas will need to be constructed in the UT editor. The Library will be mostly made in 3ds max and imported as objects. and the dungeon will be made using the UT editor. I will start making the environments shortly.

UT Model Testing

In 3D class we tried to get out player models into UT using the UT animations. unfortunately my characters import didn't turn out successful. The scale was not correct and my player was 2x bigger then normal. With a little help from Christian i managed to get him in the right size. No screen shots yet as i have to redo the rigging of the skeleton. Will get some up on this blog when the player model is working better.

machinima test video

the class was divided into two groups and each group had to make a machinima using what we had in UT2004. Our group decided to make a frogger based machinima where the player has to dodge UT vehicles. It was a good experience to work with a team in making the machinima.
